“I want to create a place where people can find more of themselves” - Michele Bohbot
Namastday Yoga Center, the life-long dream project of a very devout L.A based yogini opened in October 2015 in the heart of Beverly Hills. Impeccably designed with 2 spacious, sunlit studios, retail space, educational area and state of the art technology; Namastday was created to welcome an entirely new yoga community in the area. The studio can support up to 100 students at a time.
Founder and Iyengar instructor Michele Bohbot, began practicing in 1997 and found her passion within the teachings and methodology of BKS Iyengar which focuses mainly on alignment of the body, timing and sequence. Iyengar yoga is a preventative cure against many diseases, conditions and has amazing anti-aging effects. She wanted to pass these benefits on to as many people as possible. Especially the new generation of yogi’s that will be carrying on the legacy of the Iyengar Yoga method.
Michele has carefully curated her teachers for their knowledge, experience, and openness. Each room is stocked with a full range of yoga props from India such as blankets, mats, blocks, bolsters and chairs which aid significantly in achieving optimum results and variation in practice. Most notable of such props are the rope walls, where students can practice the traditional yoga poses supported by the ropes, even headstand. Performing the yoga poses using ropes helps strengthen the body by allowing the student to have more freedom to be in control in their asana. Use of the Rope walls are especially beneficial for spine health through use of traction to relieve pressure from compressed vertebral discs by helping the body to extend vertically and horizontally.
Namastday Yoga Classes include a variety of yoga styles like ashtanga, flow, rope and vinyasa in levels suitable to everyone, from the raw beginner to the seasoned practitioner. Many versatile workshops are also offered to compliment the student who would like to take their practice to the next level.
