Who knew that behind that Bisou Bisou label was an accomplished artist whose canvases have been recognized by art dealers and critics alike.
Michele Bohbot, one of the founders of Bisou Bisou and its creative director, is in New York right now where one of her paintings is being shown at the exhibition "Fleurs 1880-2010," which opens May 6 at the Benrimon Contemporary gallery at 514 W. 24th St.
Hey everyone--
Just wanted to share my feature that is out on newsstands in the November 2009 issue of Woman's Day magazine.
I had this old table that I did not need anymore, but still loved. You know how hard it is to find a coffee table that you love!
I know it has taken me a while to post pictures from the Bisou Bisou Fall 2009 preview at MoMa in NYC, but the time has finally come...
Original paintings by Michele
These giant flowers represent the deep secrets of the woman. They are mystical, ambitious, and hypnotizing. It is the survival instinct of the female. She can hide and uncover herself in her demand. Looking at these flowers and following the strokes will give you the illusion of the profoundness of your emotions. Letting go is rediscovering the beauty within.
The roots of human beings are stronger than we can possibly understand. When I paint the forces of nature, it is not only the power of earth that I describe, but also the power of the mind. The possibilities and the vision are infinite. My wish is that my paintings inspire you and give you strength, hope, and confidence that you are part of the universe and can make a positive impact on the future.<!--break-->
Flowers are part of the beauty of life. They represent the feelings of humans. Why we are attracted to a particular bouquet or a single flower doesn’t have any explanation. It is all about emotions. A flower has a short lifetime, but is also immortal at the same time. I love painting them…a way to immortalize myself perhaps.

The powerful images of mixed-media artist Robert Sturman have a vivid presence that is both other-worldly and deeply rooted in the earthly wonders he has explored so adventurously in his global travels. A spiritual journeyer as well, Sturman is an intuitive creator whose works resonate with an inner vision as much as they reach out to embrace the viewer with tactile, richly hued physicality.
